“Our Only World” is the title of a wonderfully inspirational and moving song to raise awareness of plastic pollution in our oceans.
This exciting project was conceived by marine conservation founder, Tina Robinson and songwriter and producer, David Smart, www.davidsmartmusic.com. Tina’s charity, Our Only World was named after David’s song.
The song aims to inspire children and schools around the world to become aware of the harm plastics have on our environment.
Five schools across Cornwall and Guernsey took part in performing the song and helping create a music video to showcase its important message. The first official release of the music video and single occurred in Guernsey in 2023.

Please Click to DonateAmerican professor and author, Corinne Gerwe and philanthropist, John Case, were so inspired by “Our Only World” and its message that they reached out to David to discuss the idea of incorporating lyrics that also referred to land based plastic pollution. Corinne’s home in the Appalachian mountains and its surrounding rivers, streams and lakes, like many other areas of natural beauty around the world, have not been spared the onslaught of discarded plastic. The idea that an alternative version “Our Only World” could inspire change that could affect the whole planet was another lightbulb moment for David. He went back to co-lyricist, Joe Broadfoot, and they rewrote part of the song. Our Only World (Land) is now a companion song that highlights the problems of plastic pollution in inland ecosystems, and runs alongside the original marine version.
Corinne’s theatrical group of young children in the Appalachian mountains, The Mountain Page Theater YAK Group, Saluda, North Carolina is the first to film and record this new version. We are so excited to show you their super video and version of the song! Thank you to Corrine, Nova Carlton, Joesph Burkett and all the wonderful children from Saluda who took part in this project. Let’s not forget Bigfoot too!
Our Only World continues to raise awareness of plastic pollution in our oceans and on land and continues to inspire children around the globe!
Mexican film maker Inti Pérez Peña was also inspired by the song and its message and we are so proud to show you his amazing film. Filmed and recorded on location in Tepic, Mexico Our Only World, Nuestro Único Mundo continues our story. A massive thank you to Inti and the Neurotik Production team, Patty Maciel and all the wonderful ”super hero” children that took part in this inspiring film!

Rasha Hamdy led a superb team in her home city of Alexandria, with team coordinator Shreef Abdul Ghaffar, director Mohamed Saeed, and accomplished musician and artist, Yassen Mahgoub leading the children in this wonderful interpretation of our song, “Our Only World”.

Our Only World arrives in the breathtaking Rocky Mountains of Colorado, where a passionate group of young change makers came together for our first ever 100% volunteer and kid-led project! From creating the storyboard to playing all the instruments these inspirational children took the lead in David Smart’s important song about raising awareness of plastic pollution and protecting our environment. The Children of Budapest took to the cause with great enthusiasm led by Timea Gőrgey and her creative team, Lilla Gulyás and Péter Pólus, Barni and Márton Rigóczki. We are thrilled to present Our Only World from Taiwan, our very first collaboration in Asia!
Johanna Marie Pfab and her creative team, including Hsu Yunting and HuiHsin, brought our song to the Indigenous Amis (阿美族) people in northeastern Taiwan. The children from Changbin Junior High School (CBJHS) participated with great enthusiasm in this lovely film. They carry forward both the Amis tradition of storytelling — passing down history and ecological wisdom through music, dance, and art, as well as carrying forward our mission to help raise awareness of plastic pollution around the globe.

This wonderful music video captures our collaboration with the extraordinary Jiabeicun School, founded by Tristan He in the heart of Dali, China. For many students, this project marked their first experience with singing – especially the boys who had never explored their own voices before. Their courage, curiosity and growth were remarkable.
They not only learned Our Only World with enthusiasm, but also transformed it into a full learning journey that connected music, environmental education and hands-on discovery. This video is a celebration of their effort, their learning and their growing sense of responsibility for the Earth. Their voices carry the hope of a new generation – and we are honoured to share their journey with you.
