In 2022, we started working with author Beth Boon to write, create and publish a book written and illustrated by children for children. Since then, we’ve continued to create engaging children’s books about plastic pollution in our oceans and on land, the effects this has on animal life and how we change our ways to save them!
We have since created a copy of this book using widgits very kindly donated by widgit.com, so we have the opportunity to share the story of Yikesy with children who cannot read text.
In 2023 & 2024, Beth worked with another local primary school to create the next book in the series: Yikesy Meets Gaia by the River. This has also been designed and written by children for children, and it is also available with widgits.
These books not only teach children about the importance of plastic pollution and the effects this has, but also ways to make changes and live a life without plastic pollution. Plus, all proceeds go back into the charity to support our work saving oceans.
