This year, we’ve installed a new living sea wall in Padstow Harbour – turning a man-made structure into a living space for marine life. So far, 22 Sea Tiles have been installed, and we’re hoping to increase that number to 45 in total for this sea wall.
The purpose of our Sea Tiles is simple: to increase marine biodiversity in our man-made harbours.
Designed to mimic natural textures and tiny rock pools, the tiles create places for marine species to settle, shelter, and thrive; supporting healthier ecosystems.
We’d love to connect with anyone who’s interested in learning more about Sea Tiles or getting involved. To find out more about this project, visit our website 👉 https://www.ouronlyworld.org.uk/sealive/
Together, we can help our harbours become vibrant homes for marine life once again 🦀
Last weekend we had our first survey on the new sea wall with Cornwall Environmental Consultants. A big thank you to Polly from CEC for coming down to Padstow and checking out our new tiles. She will come back in 12 months time to measure species increases…watch this space![]()
